How we verify
Our entire value is being the ones who get the math right. Here is exactly how we earn that.
Deterministic, not generative
No language model touches a calculation. Every number is produced by pure functions over versioned parameter tables — the same input always returns the same answer, and each result ships the statutes and rate tables behind it so you can verify it yourself.
Two tiers: beta and verified
Every API launches at beta: code-complete, with all of its defining golden-scenario tests passing and deployed. It moves to verified only after a human independently confirms the defining scenarios against primary sources — IRS publications, state statutes, SSA examples — not against our own spec. Marketing claims and metered pricing go live per API only at verified. The tier field in every response tells you where a number stands.
Honest coverage
Where a jurisdiction's table isn't confidently citable, we return a structured "not loaded" rather than a plausible-looking wrong number. Data-backed APIs serve clearly-labeled seed datasets during beta and carry a data_coverage block and freshness date on every response.
